Where small moments become words.

Finally, I’m meeting the mystery girl who I fell in love with.

After speaking for months on phones, video calls, we’re going to see each other in a cafe. A lot nervous and excited for the meet.

And we chose a cafe which is very aesthetic, with so many books and cups. It is known for coffees and shakes. Coffee doesn’t go, but I love cafe hopping.

I reached and selected a table. Next to the table, there was a big bag. A book which I wanted to read was in the bag. That grabbed my attention. I went to take it, and a lady reached the book at the same time.

It was her.

We both had the book in the reading list, so we wanted to read it. That’s why we put our hands on it. But right after doing that, we smiled at each other, sat on the table with the book.

The anxiety, the nervousness, all shattered with her presence and with the journey of grabbing the book.

We’re meeting for the first time. There was a bit of awkwardness as we are seeing each other in person for the first time. Didn’t know what to speak. We remained silent for a while until the coffee aroma hit us.

She immediately said, “You’re going to miss this if you’re not drinking the coffee.”

I smiled and said, “I’m not a great fan of coffee, but when the aroma hits my nose, I can’t resist. But you choose something for me, as I don’t have much experience with coffee.”

She ordered one, and she selected a drink for me which suited my taste, a fusion of shakes and coffee.

But we were still silent again.

And while eyes were on the book again, for a change, I initiated a challenge.

We both have to observe the surroundings and skim through the book. Select a phrase or sentence that reflects what we are in right now.

Then I selected a phrase from the book. I wrote it down.

The coffee arrived. That changed our environment again. With the boost from coffee, she observed everything around and chose a phrase from the book.

We presented ourselves while choosing the sentences or phrase because it reflects us. That’s the challenge.

But our sentences were contradicting.

Again an awkward silence.

We felt we’re always on the same page, we’re good for each other, but it was different.

I was processing this.

But she left.

Left too Early.
